PSSO

In order to facilitate the use of the Compact Line Array, PSSO presents a simulation software for the users. This software is based on the Engine of RAY-END (former GPA). We would like to introduce this software to you with a little introduction and five short tutorial videos.

If you have not dealt with Line Arrays in general, we recommend to read the article „The line array in theory and practice“ explaining the basics of line array technology and the PSSO Compact Line Array.

The simulation software is very intuitive and only presents those functions really needed in sound engineering. Read more »

The new outdoor spots with high-power LEDs

Performances of LEDs are astonishing nowadays. Even smallest spots are able to generate an enormous light output with powerful diodes. That’s why the bulky spots with conventional illuminants step out of people’s focus – often they require too much space and disturb the ambiance. The elegant LED spots on the other hand are essentially restrained – but only considering the appearance.

Eurolite presents two types of outdoor spots. The LED IP FL-8 and FL-30. They differ in LED power (1 watt to 30 watts), number of LEDs (8 and 1) and in size. The FL-8 is obviously smaller than its bigger brother which rather belongs to the group of work lights.
The spots are available each in cold and warm white, with 6400 K or 3000 K (for the FL-30 it’s 3200 K). We additionally offer the FL-8 with two different beam angles – 30° and 60°. Read more »

Just for the show – at least that is true for the latest Eurolite theater spots

Eurolite Theatre Spot

The world of theater is unique and therefore has special demands considering illumination. Demands which we have taken into account during construction phases.

EUROLITE LED Theatre 36x3W CW/WWAt the SHOWTECH fair in Berlin we have already shown that LED technology has taken a step forward  also in the field of theater productions. One example: the LED Theatre with 36 LEDs (3 watts each). Especially interesting: the combination of the LEDs. It’s split into 18 cool white and 18 warm white diodes. By this means, the stage can shine in color temperatures from 3000 to 7000 K – depending on the respective mood. Too cool LEDs belong to history, on theater stages too. Read more »

Digital loudspeaker management – part 2

Lautsprecher Management

We want to complete the list of tools described in the first part. We start with equalizers – also a vital part of oudspeaker controllers. The frequency range of a PA-system can easily be corrected with fully parametric equalizers. While mixer equalizers are mostly semi-parametric, i. e. only amplitude and frequency can be changed, a fully parametric equalizer can also change the filter bandwidth or shape of the bell. Consider that a high filter bandwidth (Q-factor) equals a small bandwidth and vice versa. As already mentioned, too harsh adjustements of the frequency response have to be avoided because the phase problems make the positive effects of the correction void. Here, less is often more!
