Ambient light for open air movies

August 25th, 2015 Posted in EUROLITE, Events, General, News Tags: ,

Warm summer nights under the open sky, movies and light installations. At the open air cinema “Festungsflimmern” in Würzburg, the organizers not only offered an attractive selection of movies. There were also great lighting ideas: For example an ambient light for the big screen.

The fortress Marienberg is a historical backdrop. Of course it lends itselfthen to light up the old walls, corridors and trenches. That was exactly what the organizers of the company „°die eine… event“ did – with numerous Eurolite spots. A special idea was to install a background light similar to the ambient light of TV screens, which increasesthe projection surface for the eye and blendsthe scenery in the overall view harmoniously.

This idea was realized with Eurolite IP Pads. In the bigger outdoor movie theater, big trees behind the screen served as projection surface. In the smaller theater, the ivy-coveredwalls servedas reflecting object. Nicolas Manger, initiator of the open air movies, is happy with the effect: „We just tried it. The spots are really powerful, so we could light up all our backdropswith just a few devices.“

At the fifth edition of the event, 25 movies from „Moulin Rouge“ to „Wild Tales“ attracted more than 11 000 visitors. Prior to the movies, bands and musicians performed and spread festival atmosphere. This year, the team of 25 helpers was confronted with rain in the first days and then heat of 40°C – but that was not a problem for humans nor technology. Thanks to IP equipment, the Eurolite spots still shone when German musician Andreas Kümmert played in the rain and people danced in front of the stage in rain capes.

Installed were 12 LED IP Pads with 24x8W QCL, 12 LED IP Pars 24x3W TCL, 20 LED IP T1000 RGB 10mm and 5 LED IP FL-150 COB 3000K 120°.

Waldbüttelbrunn, February 10th, 2015: A lot of hybrid effect devices are cavortingon the market. So far, these have been combinations of acceptable single effects, which made a satisfactory mixture. Now, these effects impress like never before, as their fine tuningis better than ever – and especially the integrated lasers are really convincing.

Just on time prior to the Prolight+Sound 2015, Eurolite now brings three effect devices on the market, which combine well-established LED effects with a laser class M2. That not only saves installation time, but provides perfect use of space – and a colorful light show of course, even at small events.

Choice of three models

You have the choice betweena KLS, a hybrid flower effect and an LED bar. If you know the KLS from Eurolite, you can guess that there’s more hidden in a KLS with integrated laser this representative of the family offers a nearly complete club lighting on one bar: Two derby effects, four strobes and two slim spots share the bar with the laser. The KLS comes pre-assembled in a transport bag.

Almost as well equipped is the FE-1500 Hybrid Laser Flower. The classic flower effect has been fitted with 8 strobe LEDs and a laser and now appears as acolorful bouquet of lights.

The third effect is the LED Laser Bar, offering190 LEDs. Located inthe center of the color changing bar is alaser with the colors red and green.

All three effects can be controlled by DMX. The LED Laser Bar additionally featuresan infrared remote control – the KLS even comes with aremote control and wireless foot switch.

Saving time and space

All three devices can be installed quickly and bring aparty mood even into the smallest locations. This makes them the perfect devices for small rooms as well as for mobile DJs and solo entertainers.

„Extraordinary“: Eurolite TMH FE-1200 put to the test

January 14th, 2015 Posted in EUROLITE, General, News, Press releases Tags: , ,

German trade magazine Soundcheck tested the Eurolite TMH-1200 FE for its December issue. The result: The Moving Head’s „flower power“ fully convinced the tester.

TMH FE-1200At the beginning, the magazine stated that the TMH FE-1200 is not a normal Moving Head: „The TMH FE-1200 is a little extraordinary“. This not only refers tothe spot’s appearance, which resembles „a piece of black stove pipe“, but above all its generatedlight: „The beams can be concentrated, so one solid beam is formed. You have a flower effect and a beam spot in one device here“.

Special look and great effects

Testers were also enthusiastic about the light output of the Flower Moving Head: “Everybody who thinks of a weak little spot when hearing Flower Effect, is completely wrong. The TMH FE-1200 shows a proper performance”. The – not-so-common – color mixture of the spot first evoked surprise, then appreciation: “The colors red, green, blue and white are available, but they can not be mixed properly. Depending on the color choice, single beams in these colors are created. (…) But this is no drawback at all, as a very special look is produced, with which beautiful effects can be created”.

Great spot

It’s not surprising that the result of the test is completely positive: „A great spot, which combines Flower Effect, Beam and Moving Head and not only makes an impression in clubs, but also on music stages or on tour with mobile DJs.“

MADRIX® 3 Awarded Product Of The Year By Live Design

June 23rd, 2014 Posted in News, Press releases Tags: , ,

MADRIX® 3 has been named Product Of The Year 2013-2014 by Live Design in the category Lighting: Software/Control.

Live Design Award

Madrix awarded Live Design Award “Product of the Year”

MADRIX® 3 was released in 2013 to bring many enhancements over the previous software generation. Above all, the main focus of this modern LED control solution has always been the introduction of voxel mapping (pixel mapping for real 3D installations). From the beginning, the new software was designed to make spectacular 3D projects possible thanks to the user-friendly yet powerful tools given to designers and users alike.

As Live Design reports, this has also been the feature set that the judges would highlight. “Full 3D pixelmapping software—a very clever system in a compact package” as one judge describes it. Another juror adds: “It offers the ability to fully map in all three planes—x,y, and z. The level of complexity that can be programmed was previously not achievable with what was available in the market. This opens up a whole new world of LED programming and effects.”

The award is chosen every year in the three main categories of lighting, sound, and projection by a panel of acclaimed industry experts. The award ceremony was hosted on May 31, 2014 during the Live Design Broadway Master Classes at Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York. Sales Manager Christian Hertel and Head of Product Development Sebastian Wissmann attended the ceremony.

Our team is extremely honored to have received this prestigious award.”, Christian Hertel summarizes. “We are all very proud on what the team has achieved, also with the help of users and partners worldwide. It couldn’t be a better time to thank all of them for their support.”

MADRIX® 3.2 is currently the latest version of the LED lighting software controller adding a large number of new features. If you would like to learn more, please visit www.madrix.com
