This PAR spot is able to do more!

December 4th, 2012 Posted in EUROLITE Tags: ,

The Eurolite LED PAR-64 RGBW+UV looks like any other PAR spot, but there’s a lot more inside: Besides the RGBW LEDs, there are also UV LEDs hidden in this housing. So the spot can not only be used as a normal PAR spot, but also for special effects with UV light.

This is a benefit especially for small stages and clubs, because they don’t need to install several devices for the use of UV-effects: the short and the long PAR can offer both possibilities in one device.

Mobile Entertain 2012 – a quick look back

December 4th, 2012 Posted in Events, Videos Tags:

Let’s start with the conclusion: The exhibition becomes better from one year to the other. One reason therefore is surely the experience, which the organizers could gain over the last three years. The arrangement of the space has been optimized and the building up has been made easier for the manufacturers.

Another reason is the fact, that in people’s minds the exhibition slowly establishes itself as an industry get-together, which just didn’t exist in Germany in this way until now. Seeing the completely positive response, the exhibition will surely attract even more visitors in the future.

Steinigke used the Mobile Entertain to introduce its Hybrid series in detail. Important for us: the idea of a multiple effect in this form seems to be liked by many people. The interest in it was enormous. Of course, the lottery was very popular, in which we gave away a Eurolite PUS-5.

We are really happy about being a part of this exhibition. It exudes a pleasant charm between informal and friendly. The visitors stay there for several hours in this relatively small hall. This way, conversations develop, which are deeper than those at the most big events. The carefully composed program of lectures and the „discussions cafe“ are additional factors, which contribute to the friendly character of the Mobile Entertain.

By the way: everyone, who wants to see the lecture about „The magic of the sync button“ by Michael Dill, should have a look at the video here.

Narrow beam angle for SLS and COB spots

December 3rd, 2012 Posted in EUROLITE Tags:

The solution: Fresnel lenses. Because of the technical conditions, the beam angle of COB and SL spots is naturally wide. A good focusing was not possible until now. But the angle can easily be narrowed on both series – with lenses.

Thanks to the lenses, the beam angle is remarkably smaller, the light is more focused. For the SLS series, the beam angle is narrowed from 40° to 25°. This way, new possibilities of use show up.

Warm white, cold white – do you know why?

November 29th, 2012 Posted in worth knowing Tags: ,

For a lot of our spots, we indicate the temperature of the white light. However, that has nothing to do with the warmth of a spot, but with the „color“ of the white light. So why are we talking about temperatures?

To explain that, we have to go back in time. The famous men, who essentially contributed to classifying colors by temperature, were Lord Kelvin and Max Planck. In the 19th century, the latter found out that a black metal body glows in different colors when heated by electromagnetic radiation. The higher the temperature of the metal, the shorter the wave lengths of the light emitted by the black body. That means: The body starts glowing in a in a dark red color at low temperatures and becomes brighter and brighter. In those days, temperatures were measured in the unit „Kelvin“, named after the Lord. This way, the classification of colors in degrees Kelvin developed. Concerning color temperatures, the prefix “degrees” is not used nowadays

This is why we still speak of color temperatures today. Take this as a rule of thumb: The higher the color temperature is, the cooler the light appears. A warm white is at 3300 K, a cold white at approx. 5600 K. Sun light, by the way, is a „cold“ white at almost 6000 K.

So if you see a spot with the description „warm white“ or „cold white“ in future, you know exactly what it means. By the way: Warm white colors create a rather harmonious mood, cold ones create a more realistic daylight atmosphere.

Controlling light has never been so comfortable

November 9th, 2012 Posted in EUROLITE Tags: ,

The DMX Commander 24/48 of Eurolite makes controlling light convenient. It allows you to control 48 channels via 24 faders and call 36 scenes directly via 12 faders and 3 pages. Over all, 48 programs can be memorized via 4 pages. There are also RDM functions and the possibility to switch the wait-timer from 0 – 2 minutes to 0 – 10 minutes.

But there’s more to it than that: The Commander 24/48 supports you whenever possible. It shows active scenes and chasers with its intelligent status LEDs. You can save scenes and chases on a USB stick via USB connection. Firmware updates can also be transmitted by USB.

That’s how the Commander 24/48 makes it easy for you to work. It’s particularly suitable for smaller stages, which use LED effects as accents, and for applications with few channels: Like for example in theatres or clubs.
