Omnitronic DD-5220L: Turntables stand up to the DJ test

January 20th, 2016 Posted in General, OMNITRONIC Tags: , ,

German producer Sleepwalker („Samy Deluxe – Weck Mich Auf“) scrutinized the Omnitronic DD-5220L. After his detailed test, he concludes: „Get them immediately!“

Omnitronic DD-5220L

High quality and robust

First of all, the looks of the turntables scored: „Just set up, the turntables stand on my desk in splendid black and I have to say, they look pretty wicked. Everything makes a high quality, robust impression. And with their weight of 11 kg, the new colleagues stand on my DJ desk solidly.“ But not only the optics impressed:

No difference to expensive devices

Of course, Sleepwalker set great store by the sound of the turntables. For testing the quality of the DD-5220L, he made them compete against some famous colleagues:
„So I unscrewed my Stanton sample system and recorded the same disc first with the Omnitronics and then with my Technics SL 1210 MK2. After I adjusted the volume for a few decibels, I could not hear any difference in several comparisons. The song sounded absolutely identically on both systems. Test passed.“

Scratching and sampling

For really putting the turntables through their paces regarding their scratching possibilities, Sleepwalker brought in another professional. DJ Mirko Machine took time to make the needle dance on the disc. His conclusion: „Great. The needle lies in the groove perfectly. The tightening of the turntable is hundred percent and you can’t say anything negative about it. The pitch fader feels excellent.“

Thanks to the various possibilities the turntables offer regarding playback speed and the integrated line out, Sleepwalker also totally recommends the DD-5220L for sampling.

Conclusion: Get them immediately

After the extensive test, the producer came to a very positive result and even compared the Omnitronic DD-5220L with popular, expensive devices:

„I have to say, I really like the DD-5220L DJ turntables! During the short time in which I could test the device, everything went fantastically and I could integrate the table into my studio setup without any problems. Omnitronic doesn’t need to hide from the competition and they don’t raise the bar too high with 445 €, I think. Regarding the latest price for a Technics device, 2300 €, I say: Get them immediately!“

„Extraordinary“: Eurolite TMH FE-1200 put to the test

January 14th, 2015 Posted in EUROLITE, General, News, Press releases Tags: , ,

German trade magazine Soundcheck tested the Eurolite TMH-1200 FE for its December issue. The result: The Moving Head’s „flower power“ fully convinced the tester.

TMH FE-1200At the beginning, the magazine stated that the TMH FE-1200 is not a normal Moving Head: „The TMH FE-1200 is a little extraordinary“. This not only refers tothe spot’s appearance, which resembles „a piece of black stove pipe“, but above all its generatedlight: „The beams can be concentrated, so one solid beam is formed. You have a flower effect and a beam spot in one device here“.

Special look and great effects

Testers were also enthusiastic about the light output of the Flower Moving Head: “Everybody who thinks of a weak little spot when hearing Flower Effect, is completely wrong. The TMH FE-1200 shows a proper performance”. The – not-so-common – color mixture of the spot first evoked surprise, then appreciation: “The colors red, green, blue and white are available, but they can not be mixed properly. Depending on the color choice, single beams in these colors are created. (…) But this is no drawback at all, as a very special look is produced, with which beautiful effects can be created”.

Great spot

It’s not surprising that the result of the test is completely positive: „A great spot, which combines Flower Effect, Beam and Moving Head and not only makes an impression in clubs, but also on music stages or on tour with mobile DJs.“

„Brilliant eye-catcher“

June 18th, 2014 Posted in FUTURELIGHT, Press releases Tags: , , ,

German trade press Soundcheck tested three Futurelight .i devices for their May issue. The result: The technology for unlimited movements as well as the devices themselves left no margin of doubt.

The editors tested an EYE-7, a PLB-130 and a DMH-75 with .i technology. These devices move without mechanical limits, meaning they can rotate endlessly in horizontal and vertical direction.

A very elaborate control“

What impressed the testers most of all was the control of the endless rotation: The Moving Heads can also be controlled normally, with limit. There’s an extra channel for the .i mode – the channel formerly responsible for the corresponding PAN or TILT motion now becomes the speed control channel. „A very elaborate application, that can not only be mastered with every console, but can also realize movements with small controllers, which have not been so easy to generate until now”.

Extremely high quality“

Even independent of the .i technology, the three test devices left a positive impression. „In the matter of workmanship, you can say that they really didn’t scrimp on any of the three devices. The housing, the connections and the inner parts are (…) of extremely high quality“.

Recommendations for mounting

Lastly, testers gave recommendations for mounting the endlessly rotating heads: „On show and music stages, especially when positioning the spots on the back truss, you need to rethink. The .i Moving Heads should be directed toward the front and not mounted overhead, as much of their effect would be lost this way“.

Eurolite NebelfluidAnd control, of course, is better – that’s why we examine our smoke fluids most rigorously…

There have to be reasons why a product has enjoyed the public confidence for more than two decades. There have to be reasons why in 20 years we have sold more than a million units of smoke fluid.

Quality and reliability are the decisive components for success. Our customers know they get an absolute high class product with Eurolite fluids. To be high class, a product has to do more than just function – it also has to guarantee not to be harmful to health. This may sound a bit too dramatic, but the truth is: unclean liquids can gravely affect the respiratory system. Moreover, easily inflammable liquids can cause serious damages.
